Barkaa is a Malyangapa, Barkindji woman and rising rapper who was named both ‘Next Big Thing’ at FBi Radio’s SMAC Awards and Rookie of the Year by Acclaim Magazine in 2020.
Barkaa's set was performed live at the Sydney Opera House for Barrabuwari (‘tomorrow’ in the Gadigal language), an Indigenous-led and culturally diverse showcase that highlighted the next generation of game-changers across hip-hop, pop, soul, and techno.
