After a four-year hiatus, and fresh off her tour with Billie Eilish, Zimbabwe-born Australian hip-hop star Tkay Maidza makes her long-awaited Sydney Opera House debut. This performance was recorded live at Vivid LIVE 2022.

Since her head-turning teenage debut, 'Brontosaurus', the Zimbabwe-born, Australian-raised singer and rapper has dropped a top-20 album, won an ARIA, and unleashed the fire Last Year Was Weird mixtapes, while collaborating with the likes of Killer Mike, Danny L Harle, JPEGMafia, Troye Sivan, Yung Baby Tate and Duckwrth. Hot off her opening slot for superstar Billie Eilish’s world tour, Maidza came back to Australia to make her long-awaited Sydney Opera House debut – and play her first Sydney headline show since 2018.

Inspired by her heroes Nicki Minaj and Santigold, Maidza’s bouncy, bratty hip-hop and future-facing R&B drew comparisons to everyone from M.I.A. to Missy Elliott and Doja Cat, but the firecracker sound of bangers like 'Shook, '24K' and 'Cashmere' is all her own. With her live performances electrifying stadiums across the world, Maidza is primed for superstardom.
