Over the last 20 years, the ideal body has evolved through different fashions - but is still limited to a narrow norm. Our presenters celebrate the body shapes that still aren't allowed to fit.
The body positivity movement went commercial with the Dove Real Beauty campaigns almost twenty years ago. Since then the fashion industry has become more diverse and inclusive - but have we really left behind the white, "heroin chic" look?
Nowadays, brands and magazines that tell us to “love your body” also normalise plastic surgery, #fitspo, and starving yourself thin. And behind it all lies a heap of cultural ideals bursting with racism, ableism, and classism.
So if we’re all body positive now, what happened to those of us who got left behind? Who are the people whose bodies and identities don't conform? In this fabulous and celebratory lineup, five people offer up their personal stories about reclaiming beauty.
