Highlights from the Godfather of Punk's incendiary debut at the Sydney Opera House in April 2019, featuring the classic songs 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', 'Search and Destroy', 'The Passenger' and 'No Fun'.
Widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time, Iggy Pop pre-figured both ‘70s punk and ‘90s grunge and has built a legendary career filled with both critical acclaim and fanatic cult success.
As explosive as the first three Stooges efforts were, it was some of Iggy's solo albums including his pair of peerless Bowie-produced Berlin records, Lust For Life and The Idiot that cemented his status as a true musical innovator. From the anthemic sounds of 'The Passenger' to the commercial success of 'Candy' (with Kate Pierson of the B-52s) and from the cult-film classic Trainspotting 'Lust for Life', the punk with the poet's heart proved he was more than just a self-destructive caricature.
