Liminal is a bold contemporary music film series featuring eight Australian artists as they create unique live performances for the screen.
A musical enigma on the verge of superstardom, Ghana-born Sydney-sider BLESSED brings his singular mix of hip-hop, punk rock and soul to the Joan Sutherland Theatre for his Sydney Opera House debut. BLESSED performs as part of our all-new Liminal series, which features a radical stage design and transformative visuals befitting an artist who transcends genre.
Influenced by everyone from Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain to Kanye and Kid Cudi, Blessed found a community in Western Sydney’s booming young hip-hop scene, serving as executive producer on The Kid LAROI’s breakout EP 14 With A Dream and dropping a string of underground anthems before releasing his long-waited, widely-praised debut mixtape, Music Is the Medicine, in 2020. BLESSED’s latest release, the LOCKDOWN TAPES VOL. 1, confirms this prolific, one-of-a-kind talent is only getting started.
“BLESSED’s enviable personal style and taste for strong, cinematic visuals sets him apart with one of the coolest aesthetics in Sydney’s – and hell, possibly Australia’s – music scene.” – FBi
