New Australian Classical brings together three exceptional local musicians to explore new Australian repertoire.
In this piano trio program, we explore the haunting, ethereal melancholy in The Aching Bones by the Australian composer Andrew Howes, followed by the intricate, playful and sometimes menacing layers in Elizabeth Younan's delightful Piano Trio (second movement).
Book ending these Australian compositions are two vibrant works by Béla Bartók (including his Romanian Dances, newly arranged by Andrew Howes). This is timeless repertoire that inspires and showcases the exceptional talent of the young performers on stage, all hailing from New South Wales.
