Liminal: A Music Film Series

Liminal is a bold, new contemporary music film series featuring eight Australians artists as they create unique live performances for the screen – with BLESSED, Budjerah, Chris Abrahams, EGOISM, Liz Martin Band, Maina Doe, Ninajirachi and Young Franco.

The Joan Sutherland Theatre stage is transformed into a 360 degree blank canvas for artists to create a visceral and intimate piece of work for audiences to watch no matter where they are. Playing with a striking kinetic set design and dramatic lighting, this exciting new series is directed by Sydney-based studio Subversus. Together with Sydney Opera House’s world-class production team, the stage becomes a synesthetic art installation, and audiences witness each artist pushing the edges of their artistic practices like never before.
