DanceRites 2024 transformed the Sydney Opera House Forecourt into a vibrant celebration of live dance, music, and community, uniting hundreds of performers to honour the rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This captivating special spotlights the eight finalists, whose powerful performances weave local storytelling and language into a breathtaking display of tradition and creativity.
Presented by NITV hosts - Shahni Wellington, a proud Werrinja Wandi Wandiaan woman and Darren Compton, a proud descendent of Yugembeh, Munanjali/Minjunbal and Gamillraay nations of the mainland, and the Mer people of the Torres Strait Islands - experience the richness and diversity of these First Nations cultures and get a taste of the celebratory atmosphere at the Sydney Opera House.
