Filmed at Sadler’s Wells in 2019, Matthew Bourne’s The Red Shoes is a triumphant adaptation of the legendary 1948 feature film by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger.
The double Olivier Award-winning show is Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of obsession, possession, and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world. Victoria Page lives to dance, but her ambitions become a battleground between the two men who inspire her passion.
Set against the achingly romantic music of golden age Hollywood computer Bernard Herrmann, The Red Shoes is orchestrated by Terry Davies and performed live by the New Adventures Orchestra. The Red Shoes will dazzle your senses and break your heart.
