Following a fiercely competitive 2025 season, the highest-scoring poets from Bankstown Poetry Slam's monthly events came together on 12 February 2026 to compete in randomly drawn teams in an unforgettable celebration of spoken word.
Interwoven through the competition are performances from an extraordinary lineup of featured artists including bestselling author Maxine Beneba Clarke; rapper and drummer DOBBY; writer and performer Arantza Garcia; writer, editor and educator Hasib Hourani; poet and essayist Jeanine Leane; spoken word artist and recording performer Luka Lesson; and author, rapper and visual artist Omar Musa as well as a musical performance by Kirli Saunders and Mark Chester Harding of Cooee.
This is more than a poetry slam. It is a tapestry of homegrown stories from some of this generation’s most compelling writers and performers. Across two exhilarating rounds, poets share work filled with vulnerability, humour and heart.
