Liminal is a bold contemporary music film series featuring eight Australian artists as they create unique live performances for the screen.
What better way to shake off the remnants of lockdown than with Young Franco, the Brisbane-born, Sydney-based producer who’s fast becoming a breakout sensation on the global electro-dance scene? Making his Sydney Opera House debut as part of Liminal, Young Franco brings his smoking synth-pop jams, eclectic house and hip-hop beats to light up the summer – and not a moment too soon.
A teenage DJ prodigy, Young Franco swiftly earned a reputation as a shapeshifting genre craftsman, attracting the attention of artists like Flight Facilities, RÜFÜS DU SOL and influential tastemakers Astral People. With more than 50 million streams on Spotify, he’s played electrifying sets at Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and a sold-out show at The Metro, earned an ARIA gold record (“Miss You”), and collaborated with a dizzying array of talent, including local faves Winston Surfshirt (on this year’s irresistible synth-boogie, “Complicated”) and US rappers Pell (on the smash “Juice”) and Denzel Curry (the Apple-soundtracking “Fallin’ Apart”).
“A genre chameleon who's become one of Australia's most-adored musicians, constantly pushing the edges of electronica, pop and hip-hop forwards.” – Pile Rats
